Services and Fees
This appointment is when you are considering therapy and wants to see if we could be a good fit to work together. In this meeting, you are asked about your concerns and therapy goals, and what has been working and not working so far. You are encouraged to ask any questions that you may have about starting therapy.
Insurance is not accepted at this time and potential clients are encouraged to ask about sliding scale.
Sessions are collaborative and focused on your needs and therapeutic goals. Therapy starts with understanding the concern or the problem that is bringing you into therapy. During the first session or two you will be asked about your background such as what your concern is/how long have you experienced it, how are your concerns impacting daily life, what your family life was like growing up, and what your relationships look like among others. I try to get as clear of a picture as possible into your life and mental health.
Therapy involves better understanding of how you think, feel, react and relate to others and the world around you. This may mean exploring and processing the impact of your early life experiences, and how those experiences shape your worldviews. Therapy may involve challenging your first notions and gut instincts, and other times involves learning to better trust yourself. Therapy could also involve drawing boundaries, and other times involves facing your fears and putting yourself out there.
Everyone's therapy journey is different and unique to them, but at the heart of it are some universal experiences: your therapist will listen to you, will empathize with you, will be respectful of your therapy journey, and help develop a unique treatment plan with you to reach your therapy goals.
As part of my commitment to support trans identified folks seeking gender affirming care, I am more than happy to meet with you to discuss your needs and situation. This is a "Pay What You Can" service and will take place over two meetings typically 2-3 weeks apart. Any letters produced will be discussed during the second meeting to make sure it accurately reflects what is needed.
I do not accept insurance but I can provide a detailed receipt upon request that you can submit to your insurance company as an out of network provider.
All major credit and debit cards accepted.
